Accepted by God

1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.”

Extra Reading: 1 John 1:1-10.

To have fellowship with God should not be a complex thing to achieve. Walking in the light will dispel darkness that Satan plans to get us into at all times. To walk in the light is to live in such a way that one is enlightened by the truth of who God is.  I have learned that we are not sinless, but we can work out our salvation with fear and trembling. The confession made in 1 John 1:9 brings us into agreement with God about our present moral condition before Him. Thank God that we are already His children. We need to continue to live in victory each day of our lives. I thank God that He has accepted us as His children. Let’s be free to be honest with Him. We have nothing to lose, only fellowship to gain. God already knows the thoughts and intentions of our hearts (Hebrews 4:12).

When we know that we are forgiven, we will come before His presence with thanksgiving. God is our Father who loves His children very much. Let’s stop complaining to God about small issues, but let’s praise and thank Him for accepting as we are. Our Father invites us into His presence just as we are, because in Christ our weakness and sin have been covered: “Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience” (Hebrews 10:22).

Let me say this to you that God accepted us without putting impossible conditions before to meet first. His heart which is full of love for His people, caused him to accept us, to protect us against the coming judgment, and to assure us that He cares for us. God does not need us as much as we need Him. The work has been completed at the cross of Calvary. A door of acceptance was opened for us by His shed blood. There was nothing we could do to rescue ourselves from the condemnation that was to come if we rejected Him. I really thank the Man of the Cross for such a big sacrifice that He made for you and me. You and I are accepted by God. Do you believe it?

Prayer: Father God, thank you that we are accepted by You. We praise you for such love. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
