The power of prayer   James 5:16 “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much”.    Extra Reading: James 5: 13-16

What happens when you suddenly struck with a terminal disease? Do you rush to consult with a sangoma, go to hospital, or ask for prayer? A true Christian will ask elders of his local church to pray. We serve a God who is more than able. He is a God who heals, and answers our prayers. Dear friend, do know that there is power in prayer. God answers prayers all the time.

James says that “the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (5:16). Prayer demands our strong faith in God.  We need to believe that God hears our prayers, and understands our needs very well. I know and believe that prayer is powerful. Our God is a good God and He wants to hear our hearts and help us through challenges that we face on a daily basis. We need to pray more when we feel hopeless and helpless. We can never face God with our human ability and expect Him to help us. He wants us to come just as we are before Him. The Lord’s ears are attentive to our deep spiritual needs.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, please help me and answer my prayer for help today. I feel hopeless and helpless, but I know that you exist as God Almighty. Amen. Rev. Samuel N. Modise
